Dr Paterson was born and raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Dr Paterson gained international subspecialty experience in Primary and Revision hip Arthroplasty surgery at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Exeter, Devon, UK. He then completed a Harvard Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Dr Paterson completed a Paediatric Orthopaedic hip fellowship at the Shrivers Hospital in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Dr Paterson is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years Surgical experience, offering services presently across the Sydney, Northern Beaches, Central Coast, and South Coast regions. Dr Paterson is committed to the provision of best practice evidence based Surgery, balanced with a considerate and tailored approach to patient care. He has performed over 3500 hip and knee replacements.

Dr Paterson is also an Australian Army Reserve Orthopaedic Surgeon (Major).
